About Linda Dorsey, Founder of Dorsey Counseling Group
Hi, my name is Linda. I enjoy binge watching Netflix series, playing with my 90-pound pit bull (who thinks he is a lap dog), and chilling with my husband of 35 years.
Even though I titled this page “about me,” this is about you. My goal in writing this was to help you decide if we will work well together. What you probably want to know more than anything is:
Do I know what I‘m doing?
You are welcome to read all about my degrees, credentials, and certifications at the end (if you’re interested.).
What motivates me to work with women like yourself?
I enjoy working with professional high-achieving African-American women who struggle with feeling like they’re not good enough, finding their voice and feeling heard, doing for others while sacrificing who they are and specifically, African-American women dealing with micro-aggressions in the workplace. Unfortunately, most of this shows up as anxiety, depression, substance-use, relationship issues, and trauma. I get to be that person who I was looking for to help me with my emotions.
What makes me an expert?
I spent most of my adult life working in several major high-tech companies in America. After my own struggles, I learned that the most important part of healing, authenticity, and self-acceptance is having a professional who has been where you are, has done what you are doing and who understands what you are going through.
